Frankly it's pretty much always shit round the Heathrow area. So long as you don't need to drive that bit between 7am and 7pm you're ok LOL.

I would personally go round Dartford way. Maybe longer, but almost guaranteed less traffic.

The Roadworks after the A41 can be a B****rd! There seems to be no pattern to when the Heathrow section is crap either, I have been lucky at rush hour and stuck in tailbacks on a Sunday evening, but the other way round seems like an awfully long way. On the whole it is the only option.

Keep your fingers tightly crossed and go for it, good luck mate!!!

Depends where abouts you are on it but theres always roadworks and s**t loads of average speed cameras. I think its about 4-5quid for artic on the dartford crossing.

just stick it out and don't rush about the place

and make sure you stay in the correct lanes

as for the traffic, coming down you are going to be pretty much fucked from aroun 21 right the way through to about 15, and then spits and spats till about junction 10 where it seems to clear up for some reason (not that it's the end of the speed cameras oh no)

on the way back it can be screwed from 8/9 onwards all the way till the m1 so just make sure youv'e got an auto

What happens if your stuck on the motorway and you've done 4 + 1/2 hours with out a break and you can't get off the road to rest? Are you allowed to go over untill its safe to stop providing you don't go over your total daily driving hours?

yep,you have to write your reason on the back of the card, you cant make it up though,if you put rta they will check with local plod, its frowned upon if you go on a m-way knowing you havent got enough time to get to a suitable stopping place.
