Nice one Mate, they are still about lol, but just not as common now. Is it matisse blue? Thats a stunning colour in the sunlight.

Ah! pacifica blue. and it'll be a 1.4. i doube somebody would go to the hassle of changing the engine to a 1.3 lol. I had an equippe! I loved it. Bought it for Ł175 and sold it three years later for Ł350. i love touches like that

I did put some hours in on it though.

the guy says it a 1300 ohv, still thats nice mate, i want to do somethi simple but nice, the engine is defo goin, but im not good with the spanners and im on a tite budget

the 1.4 with a new std cam is quite pokey, you might be surprised. and he doesn't know his engines then lol. it probably taps like an ohv lol. get a new cam and lifters in there it'll drive like new. you cant go wrong with some rs turbo alloys, - 40mm drop and some recaros. Ł300 spent and its like a new car. 4 spoke steering wheel too if you've got any spare cash, or even a ghia one., the 1.4 steering wheel is like one off a bus. its horrible.

everything else is just down to taste, turbo bonnet looks good, but i dont like orions with turbo bumpers. the rs kit is good if you can find one . the colour is an absolute C**T to match, and you cant buy it in cans off the shelf.

Ł220 to get rid. Would help greatly for ease of fitting if yours was an efi but I dont think its too bad to do.

The conversion is covered in one of the current magazines fast ford or performance ford.

If it's an Equipe then it can be either 1.3 or 1.4 from the factory

so you guys dont thing an rst engine would be good, i dont want stupid power between 150 and 200

If you can find yourself decent, and I don't mean been to the moon and back badly maintainted, RST running gear set up correctly and in a well maintained condition there is no reason why an RST with a power output between 150 - 200 hp shouldn't be reliable for everyday use. I know a few people who have done it But it probably wouldn't be the cheapest option available to you. My old Orion wasn't an everyday road car but it never let me down when I did drive it and it always ran spot on and that was basically a 1.6 ERST engine, lightend and balanced with Mahle low comp pistons a hybrid T3 running 20 psi of boost, superchipped with a Piper 285 T2 and antipump lifters on MFi running gear. But when I did the conversion the engine, turbo and gearbox were rebuilt. I also had a new fuel metering head unit, fuel injectors and most other ancillary items where required. Those that did drive her or had chance to be a passenger in her were always complimentary about how well it went I never had it rolling roaded but I suspect it was probably somewhere in the region of 180-190bhp. I never had a single doubt that when setting off on a drive somewhere it wouldn't do anything other than what was expected of her.

Not a prob, i got it wrong. To be completly honest i thought you were some random numpty who bought it as a runaround, saw 1397cc on the log book and thought it was 1.3.

I've only ever seen them in 1.4, and i've seen a few trust me! .

yeah ages ago. When i did the RST conversion, but no one seemed interested so i didn't boether to update it. loads has happeend to it since like, but its all on the orion register. Its in the middle of a bodywork facelift at the mo. i want the rs option kit fitted and blow over to make it look better. the pic at the top was taken before ford fair.

then early next year abit more power. ideally i'd like circa 200hp at the wheels, but thats NMS' job . after thats achieved i'm leaving it well alone and starting fresh with another car.

I know orions are just escorts with boots, but i bloody love 'em. My old dear had one back in the 90's. It was a MK2 ghia 1.6, and fook me, that thing moved pretty well for a little 1.6!

I cant stop looking at your one orionmojo! I've never seen em in this colour, but it looks stunning! The blue lip on the wheels is a nice little touch too! Lovely orion mate. 10/10

My mum had a Flambeau red orion equipe that i was allowed to useand i hated it. Then the next shape J plate one too and i've hated orions ever since.

What was the blue though? Wasn't called pacifica iirc.

Yes it defo goin to be a zetec, just when the funds allow. When the car arrives im stripin back to give it a good clean, bumpers of the lot so will get some ribs up for you guys

Adam, you definatly need to talk to orion_crazy_carl. he's done the zetec conversion more than a few times, he'll be able to help you loads, with which engine type, ecu to use and how to splice it into the loom etc. he did a how to on the orion register, and here iirc, but i cant find it
