they always seem to be around 13 months old. just out of the warranty. bbc watchdog repaired them on the program the other week, takes half an hour to do apparently.
im sure someone will do it cheaper than £128

Mine went tits up after 10 months and sony replaced it FOC, nine months later it went again and sony wanted £149 to replace it... wankers. I then sent it to console doctor where they have repaired if for £70.
The simple fact is they just get to hot and fuck up that why i have just bought a mini air cooler to sit behind it so hopefully i wont have the same problems again.

The slim line PS has problems also, i have been told by a friend who has just replaced his 60Gb that they run alot slower so on line gaming is effected

hi mate mine packed in a few months ago and that was my second one after my 1st Ps3 lasted 4 months so rang up PS3 and got the same shite as you blah blah out of 12 month warrenty £128 to fix then i saw a thread on here where some one said you get 24 moth warrenty with the place you buy it from no matter what they say they have to obide by this as it is some sort of Eurpoean law, anyways i rang HMV who in turn put me through to there Head office and spoke to a lady and when explain problem (mine being HD fooked) she said no problem take it to computer store to diagnose problem and get letter from them and send it to HMV HO and they will send out replacement no problem.

give a try if you still have reciept mate saves £250

Oh and the guy didnt say much when i replied To his loss claim, i shouted im the one at loss giving you bunch of C!!!! £578 for a ps3 lol

no, why would sony fix the xbox? i meant its suspiscious that both have the same problems and tend to break just after the 12 month warranty.

The tv doesn't receive any signal using the hdmi cable, spent hours pissing about with the settings and nothing, tried on my mates tv too and still no signal from the hdmi. When I try to change the setting to hdmi the screen goes black for 30 seconds then reverts back to using the component lead.

if so, then you are fucked

i was playing it he other day and hadn't changed the imput from the scart to the hdmi2 setting and the picture was horrendous

Jesus why not just by an XBOX in the first place, at least if it goes wrong you know you've had the best games console, best online and with the best selection of games etc.

At least the one time I've missed mine whilst they were sorting it I knew what I was missing!!!!!!!
