B19 GDF that I got for my 19th birthday from my mum and dad, meant to be BIG GDF as I'm not the smallest bloke around. I also bought R5 GDF when I was going to be putting my name down for a Focus RS... that plan is well and truely shelved, so its destined for a Mazda 6 Diesel. ...girlfriends initials are RS though, so it still hold some sort of meaning, all be it in a pretty wanky way.

Cheers,
Grant

I want a private plate. I have seen M3 TBL for Ł900 which seems as bit of a billy bargain, and its inevitable ill get an m3 at some point. or theres 6 JJR for Ł15k which is my initials. But having 6 instead of 1 makes you seem a bit cheap does it not ?

Mum wants G1 LLY which was for sale for Ł250k, lol

Mine reads H8KCY as my nick name is Hocky, Got it for my 21st cost Ł250 which i thought was quite good. Its on my focus but i dont like the idea of changing plates on desirable cars as it makes it hard for previous owners to track them down.
I would never pay over Ł1000 for a plate though as that to me is like buying a bit of turf from wembley!!!

I wouldn't pay a penny for a personalised plate lol, unless I won the lottery and had silly amounts of money, then maybe, just maybe, I'd get something.

No, only certain sequences were released for particular prefix letters - the DVLA website has a simple table that shows what number permutations are available for each.

If you want a special plate that isn't part of a sequence that is on sale they may, at their discretion, decide to auction it at some point in future and will let you know when it goes into the sale so you can bid on "your" number.

Some plates can be interesting, saw H2 EAU on a water company van one time.

X400 SVO was pretty discrete, meant something if you knew the car otherwise totally anonymous and worthless off the car.

Have seen an Aston with the plate V8 on it, nice car too but the plate might have been worth more than the car.

See V12 AML around a bit, that one gets put onto a lot of cars though.

One of my neighbours has D1, given that manages to be a name as well as a '1' plate I think we can expect the value to be something stupid. Always stuck onto normal cars though, was on a Peugeot convertible a while back, now on a Smart.

I have A19 GRC. It was my father-in-laws (GRC being his initials) and when he passed away we said we would have it as something to remeber him by. Me and the wife both love having it on our car and its a constant reminder every time you walk towards the car what a great man he was.
