Whats to the rear of the property i can see a pc room or something? With a step up into it? If so, then its likely the base is 150mm lower than the DPC, certainley with regards to the house.

Whatever you choose to do, even though i hate this part of the job it pisses me off, get a builder out for some free advice!

i think the garage was originally at the back of the property, and this new one is just a bit that's been "tacked" onto the front

if so then the floor will probably be the weakest link if everything else has been done to the right standards

Thats it Lee the back half of the garage, 2/3rds of it was converted to an office, floating floor, stud walled/insulated/plastered. The bit im working on was part of the original driveway so at ground level. I've got loads of carpet i'm going to use for the floor.

I think I may baton both sides, forget any insulation and screw plasterboards to the batons.
With regards to the roof i'm going to plasterboard the roof but want to use it as storage above. Would it best to use ply up top or something like MDF.... Not going to be walking up there, purely for storing wood, signwriting materials etc....

Cheers
Chris
