My other half keeps banging on about getting one of these. They do look quite nice but I'm a bit unsure about build quality and reliability. The nearest dealer to me is miles away for servicing and parts. The spec on them is pretty good as well.
I've read the reviews when they where new but now there a few years old, I can't seem to find any good sites for reviews, reliability and problems. Was offered an 04 plate 2.0SE done 95k miles for £2.5k last week.
I'll keep an eye out on this thread to see what's what

But they have got an owners club. I think you need to register to access the forums, though.

And my neighbours bought one a few years ago, but she's a retired teacher in her 50s!

how should they be driven, there slow ass rubbish. i guess the newer ones are a bit better bit the older ones circa 1998 had the show but no go.
watchout for the crank pulleys, they tend to break off and cause big damage, i know of 3 that have done this

I have a yellow 2000 reg twin cam one sitting out the front of my house , not sure if its the same shape as your looking for or not . I bought it for my old dear 2 years ago because she liked the colour .
What a piece of shit
more cheap plastic than a cheap plastic factory, textured plastic is now smooth in places
the leather is horrid and very uncomfortable on a long trip
the gearbox is fucked , which is odd because it hasnt got enough power to pull the skin off a rice pudding
the wheels are too small and too narrow to fill the horrendous arches
the visibility out of it is shocking , major blind spots etc etc etc
i dont have a nice word to say about it and i cant imagine how anyone that actually likes cars would want to keep hold of one .
i hope my unbiased opinion hasnt put you off at all

Agreed.
I gave £4000 for a Mk4 Golf GT TDi 150 which with a remap is 200bhp, 300lbft and does 53mpg...
It's fast, economical, comfortable, and i've yet to have one negative comment about it from anyone who's seen it or been in it!
