basically would like to know peoples opinions on wether you would remortgage your house to buy a rs500 as i think someday i might if i cant get the cash together .a white rs500 on cxns has always been my dream car and i think lifes to short to go through without achieving your dream.

i would never ever, put my house on the line ,but i have a relatively small mortgage and a good percentage of equity in my house as i built it myself.it would probably only add £100 quid a month on the repayments and to me a 500 is as good as money in the bank . as saphbe said people do it to put a new kitchen or build a sunroom on to their house and whats the ressle value of a second hand kitchen or sunroom maybe ten percent after years i reckon.im not rushing out to do it [sorry paul,i do love it though] as the economy isnt stable enoug at the minute.

You would have to be a complete and utter tool to do that....
You clearly can't afford one so don't bother...
Plus what you going to do when it needs an engine rebuild, re-morgage again ?
What's the attraction with the RS500 - is it really worth paying all that money for a engine number and chassis number ? Just a car at the end of the day, nothing special about them IMO.
If you got a few quid spare at the end of the month why not save it or treat the wife (and kids if you got any) on a few one off extra's and/or arrange a few nice holidays.
More to life than a lump of metal sat in the garage - your family should come first which clearly would not be the case if you re-morgaged the house to buy a metal box.

Join my business instead and run it along side whateva else your doing, £100 a month is easy to earn, i earn't £1000 last month. Think of the RS500 you could buy with that as a monthly payment !!!

dann , i will always put my kids and wife first thats why ive spent the last 8 years building a faboulous house for us all[nearly finishedlol] .there arent to many cars out there that are have gone up in value like the 500.
i have a couple of saffs and there is one with over 42k spent on it and the other with over 25k spent excluding the price of the car ,now that madness as their probably worth 7/8k.
its just that sometime in my life i would love one,oh and yes i probably would be afraid to drive it.

Also what are you going to do with it?
1) Keep it as an ornament? Sorry to those who do this, but I think you all need your brains rewiring.
2) Drive it? Will add mileage, you will probably be too much of a pansy to even take it past 3k rpm and not wanting to tempt fate or nothing but some cunt might write it off for you or something.
Not worth it imo. Never seen the point of having one over a 3dr myself.

I dont think you would be mad atall, why not? because people borrow cash for cars, kitchens and all sorts . least the 500 would hold its money .
And why are people saying he will be putting his house on the line? thats not the case if he can afford it every month. i took out 20k 4 years back to built a garage /do bits to the house and ive still got a roof over my head.
GO FOR IT you could be dead tomorrow

Naaaaaaaat!!!!!!
If you buy a 500 for £20000 and remortgage your house and it puts your mortgage up by £100 a month, thats £1200 per year say over 25 year. The RS is now costing you £30000.
Don't think its that sound an investment!
