Default Sapphire Cosworth Wing Mirror covers

Hello peeps, quick question, does anyone know how these come away from the wing mirror. Mine are all scratched and was going to spray them up.

And they look quite flimsy so was scared of braking them!!

Cheers

If you look under the wing mirror, you will see an oblong shaped hole. Insert a thin flat blade screwdriver and move the locking ring for the mirror glass to one side until you feel it click. the glass should then come out.

Once the glass is out you will see the tabs which hold the cover in place. squeeze these together and pull the cover at the same time and the cover will come away.

Get a flat head screw driver stick it in between the mirror and the cover and very carefully twist the screw driver and it will just unclip away.

Very very easy to do mate

the little screwdriver is the way to unclip the mirror glass, by rotating the small ring that locks it into place

when teh glass is ot of the way, you will see 4 small little rubber thingies that are stuck in the plastic tabs to stop the mirror casing from simply popping off

make sure you put these back in again when youv'e remved them (using needle nosed pliers) and then the cover will pop off

I'm intrigued now, maybe mine had previously been snapped hence the previous owner(s/h) using sticky pads, thought it a bit odd, as nearly broke them getting them off.

Im with Tabetha on this one, no clips on the ones I have had, just double sided tape holding them on, I used a thin scraper between the black part and the coloured cover and just popped them off.

then they've been snapped off in the past and stuck back on again

it takes a few minutes to do properly or a few seconds to bodge
