2wd exhaust manifold and joint ?
On a STD 2wd cos exhaust manifold should you have a gasket between the 4 branch part and the small extension?
Also does it have to have the STD bolts?
Mine has no gasket or paste, and has 8.8 Allen head bolts joining it together, and there's a small leak. The surfaces look pretty flat and I cleaned them up with a wire wheel on a drill but still have a leak. What's the best thing to do here?
Also where the turbo joins the studs have been removed and 8.8 Allen heads in place
does this matter?
Cheers

On the older Ford 2.3 turbo manifolds there was no gasket to the head. You put a thick film of grease between them and it coked in a "gasket". Yet there was a gasket for the turbo stock.
The YB has no gasket except for the head to manifold on stock fitment. If you can't get a gasket aftermarket or make one, and if the seal is not perfect, then do the grease trick.

that grease trick sounds cool
i guess it gets too hot for exhaust paste?
and are the std bolts important? would i be better off changing the 8.8 allen bolts for std ones?

You can also plaster it with silicone, does the same thing when it's burnt off, they should need no gasket and should seal perfectly.
The bolts don't matter, the std ones are better as they are inconel, with TORX heads, but allen ones would be fine, so long as not SS, as the virbation could snap them.
