I can only speak for Germany. And here, the big rear spoiler was part of the "Aerodynamik-Paket" that also included the front splitter (reaching into the wheel arches like the RS500 one on 3dr Cossies). Funny thing is it didn't cost anything extra. Also without the aero-pack top speed is 7 km/h higher (232 km/h instead of 225 km/h).

yes, there was an 'aero delete' package here in the UK. My neighbour from across the road had one when I was in my teens from new. I thought it looked really good, in red, small turbo model. Did make a lot of people ask if it was a 'real cossie' or not though.

personally i think they look better without them......but it does raise the word replica with the less well informed car boffs

I know that the swiss rules banned the rear whale tail because of rear visibility.

Did they? After driving a 3 door which has it slap bang in the middle of the rear view mirror i thought it was refreshing change to drive an esco where at least the main wing is at the top and you just have the verticle to worry about!

The "delete aero pack" was only an option on the late small turbos as far as i know.

They look ok IMO - makes a refreshing change!

I've got a brochure from 1993 that mentions the pack and one from 1992 that doesn't.
