What a load of shit chip/chop ( its like tag team bullshit )
I happen to prefer an RS1600i to all cossies.....its what makes me happy.
I can show you probably hundreds, probably thousands of people who are into their mk3/4's, fiestas, pumas, mondeos, focus' who dont give a toss about whether a cossie is better, they still prefer what they have to a saff etc.
Its not natural to assume that all rst ( or 'lesser' ford
) owners aspire to the cosworth models.
I can guarantee that they dont regardless of your own ( undocumented, unproved, and purely fatuous ) opinions

Its not that they cant afford or wouldnt spend the money on building it, its simply that they prefer their car?
I disagree, and I do know a lot of people who own those types of cars.
Its exactly the same as your Nova Chip.....you could have something a lot more decent for the cash you've chucked at that heap, but you dont aspire to it because you prefer doing your project your way on the shell of your choice
You have TOTALLY missed the point, yes I would sooner have my nova than a 20K escos project for the same budget (which would be pretty lame, I wouldnt have anything like the performance of my nova as id have done over half the budget just buying it and would need the other half for transmission before I even started on the engine) but I would prefer a 60K escos project to it, but i dont want to spend 60K on one project, so I stuck with my nova instead.

Because if 1 RST owner in the world (and I personally know more than that) wants to own a cossie then the statement:
All RST owners dont aspire to owning a cossie
is incorrect
If however you said
Not all RST owners aspire to owning a cossie
Then you would be 100% correct, and me and chops would bother agree with you, although we also believe that
Most RST owners aspire to owning a cossie
is true as well, which it sounds like perhaps you dont?

Thats part of the appeal of the RST though, its far easier to be a big fish in a smaller pond.
Christians RST is one of the best RST's anywhere, but the same spend on an escort cosworth would have it as pretty average.
20K (total guess at what something like christians would cost to build) gets you an amazing RST or a luke warm escort cosworth.

some people just don't like cossies
you can not say everyone who likes there girlfriend wants to swap them for a certain someone else just because you think the someone else is better in your own opinion if this was the case everyone would be after the same bird

So you believe that there are thousands of people who wouldnt swap their fiesta or puma or mondeo for say Martin's Escort Cosworth if given the chance?
Its not that they cant afford or wouldnt spend the money on building it, its simply that they prefer their car?
WTF has that got to do with it?....i'd swap Martins car for mine any day, but that is because it makes financial sense. His car is worth a lot more than mine and i could just flog it on and buy another mk3![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
BUT, if you were to tell me I could only have one car for the rest of my life, Mart can sleep safe at night knowing he wont be replacing his with a cruddy mk3 escort
I disagree, and I do know a lot of people who own those types of cars.
Oddly enough so do I as it happens, despite the fact you dont know fuck all about who I know
Lots of high profile owners on this site even that I dont know tho.....Luca, Christian, Twins, Gus, Janno, Tim (NMS) etc etc
Not all RST owners want a cossie, i'd say not even half

No point missed, perhaps you were a bad example, I know lots and Lots of folk who would rather continue with their car/project whatever the cashflow situation, and they arent all cossie owners.

The fact that you stood there going "I am 100% correct" and then said something incorrect made you fair game for a bit of pisstaking IMHO, as if you are going to make definitive statements about being 100% correct with a statement you make, you should at least make sure you actually are correct in that statement!

I agree its ripe for pisstaking.....but seeing as you managed to slate the grammar/spelling police on your own thread today/yesterday then it seems like you can dole it out but not take it eh? Bit like the other thread in general really

And as for not being able to take it, what exactly do you think I didnt take on the other thread, bearing in mind here that it was ME who changed the thread title to call i a rickety old barn in the first place, and I was saying on the first page it wasnt neat?
Have had a few mongs say similar, and not one of them has been able to give an example, so maybe you can and buck the trend, or are you just trying to be like Benni by copying what he said?

Not at all, I said I see no point in correct spelling or grammar, that has no bearing at all on wether or not a completely false statement should be corrected, its totally different.

" Bit like the other thread in General " means the other thread in general discussion, where you objected to the grammar police.

I think that you would continue to hump SUBO, till you could afford to go get a decent chic.
In simpler terms RST till you can afford a COS.

Yes again agreed. But fuck me you pedantic shitbag, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEANT!!!!!! YOU KNOW WHAT POINT I WAS MAKING!!!!
Same as always, a valid discussion turns to drivel because you pick it to bits with pedantry like a dog shaking a bone. Big deal I mucked up what I typed but you know exactly what I meant.
