Advice needed on some electrical items....
Namely:
A Samsung Blu-Ray DVD Player
An Amp
And the Speakers (2x rear and the Sub)
I currently have a 46in 1080p Samsung flat screen on the wall and i'm looking to finish it off with a decent same make blu-ray dvd player and some surround sound
With the dvd player i'm testing the water to see what you guys have and are using from the Samsung range of Blu-Ray players...... PLEASE don't suggest a PS3, i am not interested
I've seen THIS But is it any good?
And something i know nothing about is the Amp side of things, i know a friend of mine is running a Yamaha - Which looks pretty LMAO
I have the 2 front speakers from an old set-up, they are Tannoy shelf jobbies. Just would like some advice on the Amp, a sub and the 2 rear speakers (of the wired variety, as the living room is all hard wired and ready to go)
I really don't know where to start.......

I have a Samsung p4600 blu ray player which I have mounted on the wall under my tv. Seems to be a good bit of kit and features bd live which enables downloadable content. The access times fit discs is very quick and the best bit over the ps3 is the fan is much quieter.
I am looking at getting a surround sound system but will probably go for a samsung sound bar which can be mounted directly under my tv.
The only thing I don't like about samsung stuff is the shiney black plastic finish they use. It scratches very easy, even when you clean it with the clothes they provide.

Not having had a BluRay player, can't advise on that, but as for surround sound and amps, if you want a "proper" set up, don't go for one of the "all in one" pacakges.
I run a Sony AV Receiver, which has a pair of Mission floorstanders for the front left and right, a pair of Mission rear surrounds, an Eltax centre speaker and a Mission sub.
The AVR takes car of pretty much all the duties - 2ch stereo for music and TV (the Mission floorstanders were bought specifically for stereo music) aswel as handling all the Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 stuff from the DVD player.
Now, bear in mind a lot of BluRay discs have 7.1 surround audiotracks on them, you might want to look at 7.1 amps. Also, not many AVR's, except super expensive ones, will handle multichannel digital audio over HDMI (such as Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD) so you'll need one that you can attach the BDP using analogue phono cables. This will allow the BDP to do the sound decoding and pass a signal to the AVR.

I think i'm pretty much sorted as far the DVD player goes now.
I'd be happy with 5.1, mainly cos i dont have the room for another 2 speakers in my lounge. I've seen these AV Reciviers:

http://www.richersounds.com/product/.../sony-strdh800

Is Richer Sounds a good place to go for advice?
