Default Escort Cosworth front bumper adjustment and removal UPDATE PLEASE READ NEED ADVICE

After several hours of trying to remove the front bumper i finally got it off, i originally thought screw had been threaded as all it did was keep turning, jacked it up today and looked at bolt and found the problem the square screw/oblong threaded thing that sits in the front support had come away and was just turning on the screw,

So how do i re-put it in and make sure it stays there????

Help

do you mean the threaded insert/nut? they just need a blob of weld on them to tack them into place

not too sure mate, but could you not take off the metal part of the front bumper and give it to someone who could sort it etc..

It was the star drive as bumper had well dropped and found the problem to be threaded nut/insert hence why it just kept turning.

Do you think Chemical metal would work???????

Tried to tap it back in and when put bumper back on it did the same

probably best to remove the whole bumper, remove the plastic twists, 1 each side of the bumper below the sidelight & back a bit,,,,, then theres 4 17mm bolts underneath the chassis legs at the front, remove the back 2 & losen the front 2, the bumber should then come off & you can sort out the adjusters.
