Was having this discussion with a friend earlier, I absolutely hate the new Focus RS in terms of the way it looks! Too many vents and spoilers, jacked up suspension, grotesque colours and whats them fake vents under the headlights about?

Anyone else with me???

 

Nope, Love it, is a typical fast ford. If you dont like that kind of thing, get a golf

no your not the only one, i think both the Mk1 & mk2 focus are fuckin ugly, they should be treated like weeds, every time you see one, you should kill it.

I am not a huge fan tbh.

I looks at the escos and it looks beefy yet sleek even with the big whale tale, but the now FRS looks like they have consulted maxpower for styling.

At the risk of getting burnt at the stake, it reminds me of Rovers attempt to make their cars look 'street', kind of bits stuck on and mad colours.

 

Yeah I have seen them up close but that also confirms my thoughts. Rather than being subtle, they seem to have gone overboard on the styling which gives an adverse reaction as far as im concerned.

Exactly my way of thinking. Defo prefer the 3door/Saff way of styling, subtle tweeks make an overall better look.

Funny you should say that, as the Golf GTi (Mk6) is a far better car!

 

I thought they were shit as had only seen magazine ones, but a green one lives near me, I think it's Nath R's, and I must say what I thought was a horrid colour from the magazine is anything but, it's so nice in the flesh it's untrue, totally changed the way I see the car love it, a little bit OTT imo, but still nice.

total crap imo my mate had a 09 gti golf. he drove a friends mk2 rs focus liked it so much he traded his new golf in for the new rs focus says it all imo, even though the golf is a very good car .

I like the Focus RS, annoyed it wasnt 4wd. I wouldnt have one though. They aint that quick.

personally id rather have a Jdm type R.Not as quick but much lighter and focused.

 

It is far from a pretty car, just screams chav imo, however IMO that is what the RS brand is about. Just look at the Escort Cosworth.

I think they look nice in white, although the wheels are a real let down imo.

Much prefer the mk1 Focus RS, much more subtle and will more sought after in a few years time imo

 

While this is partially true dude, th eone they should of designed to work with the car should of been for the bloody ECU!!!

Which spacktard ever signed off the piece of paper to say yeah lets mount it on thr front of the engine behind a hot rad needs a kick in the balls.

7 hot laps anround brands and it cooks and puts the car in limp mod, great!.

People need to stop comparing it to cosworths and evos etc, it is a modern rs turbo, nothing more nothing less. Personally I think the biggest let down is the interior, just looks plain and empty IMHO....

Don't like them. look like they belong in a Mc'Donalds car park. waste of 300 bhp at the front wheels IMO.

I certainly wouldnt rather a focus RS over my car, its slower, over rated, boy racer and not as well built. Far less classy and also FWD.

I do like it tho.

 

Love them in the flesh - little bit OTT but it's an RS And id rather Ford produce cars liek this than middle of the road styled Golf,s/Renaults/Leons ect

 

im not sure, if they were 4wd id love it, proper rally car style then.

otherwise the mk1 focus wins, subtle and just all round nicer looks

Agreed on the sparco shite in the 1st one but the recaros in the new one are brilliant!

 

I thought it looked ugly as fook when i was stood next to one.............but one came up behind me whilst driving the other week and looked menacing as! still undecided i think

The 3door/saff are totally different when it comes to styling. Ones in your face, massive wings and arches. While the other couldn't be more subtle (especially in two wheel drive form) if you tried. All these people moaning about a 300bhp should take a trip back 10 years in time, to when the most exciting ford you could buy was an st24 or escort gti lol

 

FPMSL @ calling the 3 door subtle, especially if you think about it in the context of over 20 years ago.

Personally I prefer the mk1 focus, but im sure the mk2 is a very capable car, i havent driven one yet though so will reserve judgement.

Because ford have and found it slower than the FWD version

 

I think it looks nice , from a car thats left the factory with alot of little touches and they go well too. only thing i think they could of done better is the alloys , but then owners can change them as and when

 

Rubbish, how can a type R be more FOCUSED than a FOCUS, only the ED decides that!!
