Not my cup of tea tbh. Id like to like them but regardless of how fancy the diff is, stuff like that should be 4wd. I do like the green but i dont like the way that every new Ford has different colour plastics to the main body colour (looks especially bad on the green RS and on my orange ST (mk1))
Inside i think they're a very nice place to be and very comfy but then that's the other thing i dont like - they're just too comfy and too plush.
I know they're a different animal to the ST but there's just no sense of speed until you look at the speedo, even down a back road.
Was seriously considering swapping my ST for one but i just dont think they're worth the money and id soon get bored - just like i am with my ST
However, as cars go, they are still pretty special and i can genuinely understand the appeal

............
And thats in a dead straight line against a FWD car
On a real road i think you'd be surprised by the pace of the Focus.

5.8mph and also 1.5 seconds is a massive margin.

Seriously on a a/b road with actual corners and stuff you wouldnt be pissing on the focus, absolutely no way.
Your delusional if you think your dads car is ' a hell of a lot faster ' than the focus in the real world.

The focus is a full half a second faster to 60 than the BMW as standard......fwd too.
Torque smorque rwd bollocks
Focus is a quick car for what it is and a damn sight quicker than the 335d as a standard package.

On a track my money is on the focus rs all day over the 335d (apparently owned by your dad)
man how boring taking a derv auto bmw to drag strips all the time. Dont get me wrong i love 1/4 mile drag races but would never even bother taking a boring old auto diesel.

Dude, do you not breath when you speak?
Also to add to the argument, i think the Jamsport one proved itself yet again yesterday.
But the best car on track for me was dingy's mk2. Fuck me that sounded awsome coming down the pit straight!.

i think it looks ok. although nothing amazing, but i thing the interior is naff and the engine looks pants.
i think a pair of cossy like recaros would look better than the seats that are in it. and the steering wheel looks abit standard. but for me one major thing ruins it... FRONT WHEEL DRIVE. not the end of the world for those who own them but for me.. simply not interested. :/ dont mean to offend anyone whos bought one, ive been in one and it was quick and it looked good but just wasnt set on fire by it, in the same sence that a 30grand cossy 3dr would. also a 30grand rs500 holds its value wheras that wont

you guys have got to stop laying into diesel.
The 335d goes around a track (apart from Nordeschliefe etc) quicker than the 335i (in a mag test? cant rememBer where though). In standard trims.
The 335i in 5th gear went quicker than the S5 around angelsey. So it aint not track slouch either.
Ive Been to the ring 3 times in her, i enjoyed every lap i have done.
The focus is a great car. Id rather keep mine. Im entitled to an opinion.
I wouldnt go Back to FWD anyhow now.

everytime you post on a thread where a new car is the subject you always have to get into performance times and figures of your dads car

is there any car that you would hold your hands up and say "from factory its faster than my dads diesel" but without mentioning super cars?

Factory car, Hmm E92 M3 just. Nissan GT-R porsche turBo etc. Round a track all those and a Cayman S etc.
Mate i laugh at you saying its my dads car. I dont actually care what you think.
I paid for my car, Im the legal owner and registered keeper. What do i care if a 200sx owner from london thinks its mine or not?! ''who are you exactly''!?
All i said in here was i wouldnt have the focus, an ill-informed person assumed my car wasnt as quick as one. Which is incorrect.

No doubt that 335ds are fast and great cars but if it were a choice on a sunny day to go for a blast any likeminded car enthusiast would take the RS regardless of bar boasting figures.
And it would deliver!
And it would deliver!

BOLLOCKS! my mate had an 08 plate edition 30 in white...looked the nuts but I drove it a couple of times and it fealt so watered down compared to his 52 plate edition 25...bland steering, feel-less pedals and a SHITE engine note
He was so bored with it he ended up buying an N plate 850r
I've drove that too and it's WAY better than the golf, much more fun!
