Can you remove the standard kidney box oil breather without removing the inlet manifold?
Just as important - can you refit it (or a proper breather system) without removing the inlet manifold?
Just want to know how much back-breaking's involved.

Yes - a tight squeeze to remove with the engine in the car though - a lever/screwdriver under the box and lever it off ![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
Give it a good clean out while it is out of the car aswell, it will be full of emulsified oil/mayo due to the condensation that forms when the engine is cooling down

That is correct - you remove the gauze flame trap and leave the big kidney box - the kidney box is essentially a breather/seperator (on 4x4 it is) with a crankcase breather and oil return and then the top port goes to the air box + inlet manifold via the flame trap on a standard setup. On an uprated setup, you remove the flame trap, the inlet manifold valve and airbox pipe and fit a 19mm internal diameter pipe from the kidney box to the aftermarket breather tank ![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
