Default L8 Board???

Do L8 ECU's come with a piggy back board or is it an bolt on extra? Doe's the chip fit straight onto the board or doe's it need the piggy back board?

yes they have a std ford board.

and some are chaged to pectel boards, so you need to know what you have and what method of encryption your chip is written for

ie, if you put s a std ford encrypted chip into a pectel board it wont work, and vice versa

all l8s need a board. there are basically 2 types of board though, std and encrypted (most commonly using the pectel protocol). the chip needs to match the board.

I actually have one i'd part with, only thing is it needs a new blue connector as some gimp (me) broke a couple of pins off in a fit of mongness one day

If you can get another connector, very easy, it just pushes on over the ribbon cable, no tools required.

I've kept meaning to get a run to somewhere like maplins to see if they've got them in stock, keep forgetting though!
