the past 2 days haven't been normal i had one mate get knocked off his bike on sat his leg has been shattered and he's sitting in heartlands hospital with the knowledge that if the break doesn't heal itself he has a chance of loosing his leg
, yesterday i'v just found out another good old mate got killed in kingsheath on his bike, why are bikers dropping like flies at the moment, bit sad atm but after loosing my best mate at 20 i'm sort of hardened to it now, still sad times though.
i want to get back on my bike but all this is making me think maybe the roads are getting so bad we just can't enjoy our bikes anymore.

Sorry to hear that
One of my mates is a biker and although he's a careful rider I always worry about him when he's out on his bike. I hope your mate with the leg injury makes a full recovery.

Just have to be very very careful, to be honest I have 996 Ducati, and I make no use of it at all on the road, just pose around enjoying the noise, even as an older bike with "only" 115bhp at the back wheel, you just cannot use the performance on the road bar the odd empty duel carridgeway.

yea i don't think i'm going to let it stop me getting back onto a bike but i think i'll leave the fast riding to track now, i think since we joined the EU and over the last 4-5 years the roads have gotten really bad, thanks for the kind words though people, the one with the broken leg had only been riding a month or too to have some woman just pull straight out of a junction into the side of him, the other mate had been riding about 5 years, we honestly have no chance.

well sorry for not being 100% correct on my statement
, but i'm sure alot of people knew what i meant as when we joined up with alot of europe and we started getting the influx of foriegners filling up our roads, since i was last on a bike it's gotten really bad and it was getting worse then.

sorry to hear about your mates dude, i've been on the back of bikes since i was 9 (15 years now) and there are sum retarded drivers out there BUT there are some bikers that are just as bad, its the same on both sides, theres sensible drivers who see bikes coming and give them room (me,
) then theres the ones who move over to try n stop the bikes goin past cause they dont like the fact bikes can get through traffic and they're stuck in it, but then theres bikers who are sensible and go fast when the roads are clear and safe, then theres the dickheads who set out to go head down, arse up, flat out all the way, they dont care where they overtake or how close to the cars they get, then bitch when they fall off
. hope your mate gets well soon.

yea i no especially round the sparkhill sparkbrook area, they just don't care and drive all over the place not looking where there going or anything, such a shame cos being on a bike has a second to none feeling, just carries such a high price if anything goes wrong.

sorry to hear this mate, hope your mate gets better soon
as for car driver's it's not allways them it does come down to biker's aswell so dont blame car drivers all the time..
my dad lost his best mate back in the 70s thay were both out on there bike's going fast, my dad said his mate left him behind but when my dad got a few yards down the road on a bend his mate was wrapped around a telegraph poll with his bike, it took the fire men over 3 hours to get him and the bike away from it..
dad then sold his bike on and never been on one since

shit news about your dads mate, yea i no it's not always car drivers but the last few instances i've heard about have been i'm not to sure on what happened to my mate that passed away i don't think a car was involved.
one time i had a mate overtake a car at high speed on a hump back bridge, i honestly thought i'd be picking him up off the pavement that night, i didn't ride with him much after that i couldn't be arsed with the stupidity.

you wont ever get me on a bike on the roads
i lost a good mate a few years back who got knocked off his bike by a car pulling out and not looking properly
i got another mate whos very lucky to still have two legs attached to his body after being knocked off
to dangerous for todays roads imo
