I know a mate of a mate who lost his passport in Spain, he was stuck there for nearly 3 months!! Ended up getting a job over there in one of the bars.

Listen to the voice of experience... It seems more likely that u will get a reply if u are being funny rather than helpful. Embassy and explain ur situation. Hold on to ur fucked passport. At the end of the day u were logged as arriving in Mauritius, so it will be no surprise when ur leaving and u are not the first person to ruin ur passport when out of the country. Good luck.
