what car could i get for around 1500, between a 1.4-1.6-1.7ltr thats not bad on miles and pretty nippy ??? and RELIABLE

i need sumthing thats not daft on petrol like a pug GTI or puma (heavy right foot) and i wudnt touch a saxo if it had a 10million bhp engine and the bloke wants a quid there shiite nuff said civics are nice but i want sumthin that loks nice 2.. ive been looking at focus tddi what are these like? any good with a remap?
