Talking A380 to fly by Edinburgh Airport tomorrow

For anybody who's interested,

Scotlands first fly by of the Airbus A380 is due to happen tomorrow at Edinburgh Airport at 13:40.

Think it's doing a low pass enroute from Preswick to Norway. Might be worth a look if your in the area. These things are HUGE.

one flys from Birmingham airport, they arent allowed to fill it because the runways too short.

Theres an opening ceremony this month at BHX.

one doesnt fly from brum on a regular basis, there is a emirates one flying into brum on the 9th instead of the regular 777-300er to celebrate the opening of the new international pier, flying in on that day only and it will be fully loaded if need be, it can easily get up of their shorter runway

the only thing i dont like about the a380 is that its considerably quieter than other planes inside so you can hear everything like people dropping their arses etc lol

Seen a few of them now in Aussie, saw it fly over Sydney in 2007 and another couple on the ground since then. They are STUPIDLY big in the flesh, amazing machine.

Here's some of my pics from the Prestwick fly by. It was jam packed and this wasn't the official viewing area - I spoke to a guy and he said people had been queuing since 9am at the official site. It's a lovely plane but waiting 5 hours to see it??

The chaos:

I was down in Ayr for the weekend, and heard about it from my mate, so we headed down towards Prestwick and managed to get a few (crappy) photos:

Wonder if the eagle-eye'd on here can recognise where I was.

That is cool!!! I got to tick that one off in my book.

I live below the route the planes make before landing and I think it's ace. Pity the biggest plane the runway will see is a RAF Nimrod.

Yeah i saw it come over and was suprised how quiet it was.
The Vulcan flew over about 2 minutes after that.

It was a fly by for the Airbus factory in Broughton where the wings were made.
