My brother needs a new screen (12.1inch) for a Philips Freevents X52 laptop. Ive searched round and only found 2 places online that sell them, but Im sure there is alot of PC people on here who can supply and fit a new screen for me??

Usually a piece of wee to replace these.
You sure its a dead screen and not a dead bulb? (screen goes very dim but still works).
I've done a few on random machines in the past - its usually just a ribbon connector and a few tiny screws holding the screen to the plastic lid.
The most difficult part is taking the lid apart. Have a google for a service manual.

Posting for my brother FletchCossie:
Thanks mate, but my son walked on it and put a small crack in the top left corner. Then I left a cable between the monitor and the keyboard last night and Im assuming the cats jumped on the laptop as the screen is completly cracked and hardly readable.

Ebay are usually quite good. I've bought dell stuff off there before.
A lot of online places are based in the states. Its a simple matter of bashing google for ages til something turns up.
You'll be surprised what you can get on the bay though. Get the serial/model no off the screen and you'll find its probably been fitted by a dozen manufacturers in various different machines. No need to buy from the oem.
