Default 1969 London to Mexico World Cup Rally car for sale

*not mine..although I wish it was as it's lovely.

This 1969 Escort (bottom right)

http://www.bonhams.com/cgi-bin/publi...aleSectionNo=2

This is one of only two surviving London to Mexico World Cup rally cars and is considered the prototype Mexico. This car finished 8th. The other car - the Hannu Mikkola winning car is owned by Ford (pictured in a mag recently in the Ford Heritage article). There were 5 cars originally and only these two are left.

I wrote a feature for RN on this excellent car a couple of years back. A genuine piece of history now up for sale.
This car will be auctioned in 2 and 1/2 weeks.

Link edited as Bonhams have just updated their pages. Lots more info on there now.
Estimate is £70,000 - 90,000

Bonham's estimates are usually conservative. I'll be surprised if it doesn't fetch more than that.
