If global warming is heating up the planet.....wtf is it frozen outside?!

 

Its warming it very sligtly. Carbon Dioxide prevents the planet losing heat (which it has too do). Although I don't think its as bad as the etremists would have you belive, its still a problem because the polar ice caps will melt flooding lowland areas, and the rainforests will die, cutting of our supply of oxygen

 

that still dont explain why its frozen outside tho does it!

 

as the ice caps melt the gulf stream will become more diluted and cease to exist thus the UK could get colder

and yes it is fookin cold

The fact is....the slight temperature rise here, won't affect us.....except we'll have occasions where prior to global warming, we'd have ice.....post global warming we'll have rain....

Gain 1'c on a polar ice gap .....and you have enough of a sea level rise to completely cover any areas of land that are <200m above sea level......The findings have been found by the european environmental comission (a group of geographical scientists who have been taking their findings to the EU.....meaning we have all these news reports that aren't explained well enough for people to understand clearly)....
The predicted rise is a lot more than 1 degree....and so....the risks are a hell of a lot greater.....now, I'll shut up....because I'll bore you with the biologists versus the geographers take on how badly this will affect us all....
I went to a lecture on global warming in cardiff university in october....really scared the shit out of me ....

well I've never met a hippy who knows anything about it....most of them just protest about it....lol
The people who are finding this evidence....are people with 20 or 30 years experience in the field.....and they are comparing temperature results over many years....and seeing a stark difference....=)
Im prepared to believe that somethings amiss, as these environmental experts do keep bringing out very strong results to show the earths temperature is rising....and will probably continue to, for whatever reason.

I do think 'global warming' is attributed to far too fucking much though, eg greenpeace uses global warming as an excuse not to build houses on baron land where trees arent fucking growing anyway....it gives people a bad feeling about the issues when the unemployed activists start making up results to influence whether or not Barratt builds some more homes which people need to live in regardless.

 

i think they've just got it in for Barrett Homes so we've agreed global warming is just a big conspiracy against barrett homes coz someone doesn't like lego houses.

 

global warming, is a term now used against people, by anyone who thinks they don't want something to happen 'oh itll speed up global warming'
.......whereas the research carried out is being done to protect us our cities and our children from being wiped out by rising sea levels.....

And he could probably do it in summertime to lol. Even the scots wear a coats over here!

 

but with the very small increases in temperature assuming it's a linear rise it's going to take many many 100's of years before any immediate cause for concern is needed so maybe we can invent a pill to speed up the evolution process and we could evolve into to being mermaids, and mer'lads' or summit..

as for global warming taking hundreds of years! remeber seeing a picture of alaska 60years ago (the picture was taken then i didnt see it then) and next to it was alaska today! Huge differance! mainly ....the huge belt of ice! now missing!

On a serious note, we can blame global warming on everybody, most governments of the world have signed the kyote protocol, with one main exeption, the United States, as per usual they can't see past there own asses, to address the bigger problem which is fine if it only affected Americans, but it doesn't. Every earth science lecture I go to, the lecturer normally mentions global warming, does this mean that a man who has spent most of his life working in this field and knows alot more about it than most people can dream to imagine is a "Hippy Tree Hugger" I think not
