The Stig in an F1 car..
Surely he has to be a current/previous F1 driver to get anywhere close to pushing that Renault round the track without months of training!!
It makes you wonder who he is..

There has only been two Stigs? The black one (Perry McCarthy? who got the boot for telling the papers he was the Stig I think) and the current white one to my knowledge.

Perry is no longer the Stig as far as I know?
I reckon they changed him to a Renault test driver for this week as that car is worth millions, they wouldn't let anyone not in the team drive it!

The new Stig is very short (similar looking height to Hammond), so just do a search for all short-arse ex-F1 drivers and see what you can come up with... 
. He was also at the Ring with Clarkson and I'm sure he is in some of the photos we took that have been posted on here...

I read the Stig was changed last night especially for the F1 lap and it was Heikki Kovalainen. Apparently the 'normal' stig is Ben Collins, and as it has been mentioned the old Stig was Perry McCarthy. Haven't heard of any of em personaly mind!!

Testing the future
kovalainen won the 'race of champions' on eurosport the other weekend. beat a load of other race and rally drivers, including the big chinned wonder (schumacher, not PON )
