Default Road trip!!! Escos to Spain and back..

During a drunken conversation with my brother in law he mentioned that he would like to take his Escos over to Spain rather than fly, the drink made me say "yeh, I'm up for that" ....even though I had already booked my flights

Anyhow we have already done the 1350 mile trip from Blighty to Spain a couple of weeks ago (omg how much fuel!! ) and was well impressed with how good a £6k Escos can be Anyhow I'm flying out tomorrow to bring it back, must be mad!

Anyone else like doing long distances in cars? I quite enjoy it.

Anyone in the Alicante area at the mo?

The reason is actually in the pictures but it was still very cheap.

My mate and I did it in his Scoob when they were new cars! Late 90's/early 00's. Fuel bill was 3x the cost of flights.

I quite like doing long distances , when there is some nice scenery. Wouldnt like to do a pure motorway drive though.

I done the Scaly rally so went from Windsor to Rimini in Italy. Then after the rally carried on driving upto Rome. Proper loved it especially all the mountain passes, shared 12 hours driving with my mate on one of the days!

We ony had a 2.0 passat though would have been better in something RWD or 4WD with some grunt but probably wouldnt have lived to tell the tail if we had something like that as its so easy to get carried away through the mountains.

RIP the mighty BeeDub, done us proud lol

I think we dropped lucky with the price of this car tbh. Its std other than mongoose, greens, 3 bar etc. But most importantly it has no rust

Have to thank Diva for finding the car

I love a good roadtrip, (hence the three so far that have been featured in Fast Ford! ).

Next month I'm doing Glasgow to Zurich, via the Dover to Calais crossing.... Then on the way back Germany, Nurburgring, and the Amsterdam to Newcastle ferry.... Should be good!

So many cars are better in LHD. Most are designed this way anyway!

I have never rallied a LHD car until after i started to build my escort, then i hire one of Tim finch's EVO's - lhd - was far nicer than a RHD, had i not already started the build my car would have been LHD.
