Furthest I've driven abroad is to the Nurburgring - usually only 300 miles, but the first time we went, we did it the long way from Leeds to Folkstone, onto the train and then drive from Calais to the 'Ring - some 600-700 miles or there abouts Was a giggle though, I keep looking back at the DVD and seeing some of the rather interesting driving styles we used on the continent that would possibly see us behind bars in the UK

Long drives are great, more so in a group though. We head up near Sydney once a year to drive a couple of the race tracks which is about 800kms each way, boring drive though but made fun by the company (one long highway all the way).

Have done a lot of long drives here in Oz. Did some good ones in the US last year. 2500 miles in 3 weeks. LA-San Fran, NYC-Washington-Wilmington, NC. Wilmington, NC - Atlanta, Las Vegas - LA (convertable mustang).

We drove about 10,000km in 2 months or so driving round Oz a couple of years back. Fantastic experience and EPIC scenery and roads. Did it with a few good friends and loved it, best thing I ever did.

A LOT of driving though, used to drive one tank of petrol per shift then swap drivers, though I always seemed to get the night shift. Ran over a Kangeroo, a snake and some frogs though!

Our summerhouse is 900 miles away so I used to take it there every summer and intend to do so once its soon up and running again.

Never had a problem with it during a long journey, on the other hand I dont floor it from the lights in some country at the other side of Europe.

Now that many cars have a 6th gear I must say I find it a pain to use the cossie as it revs quite high in normal motorway speeds compared to the daily driver.

Hi mate , the company i work for have a couple of villas over in Majorca n asked me and my mate if we fancied driving there E34 M5 over a couple of years ago , left hooker for when they go on holiday , we obviously took them up on the offer and have since been back n forward three times for various reasons , Proper road trip like , amazing roads too , would much rather pay for decent motorways rather than the shite we have to drive on over here , they have recently bought a B10 RS4 N thats goin over in November so i can feel another road trip to spain comin on , woo woo !!!!

I fooking hate long drives!!!!! you can't sleep or drink or watch films or read car magazine..... and they are some of my fav things!!!

So gimme a plane or a train or a chopper or a nice chauffeur driven car any day of the week!
