Default bolting an engine to a engine stand

might sound a bit "newbie" but i never have done this before! i've always struggled on the floor with engines when building/tinkering, but ive just thought "sod it, i need a stand" and bought one off ebay.

now its all bolted together fine, no probs, but my question is, what bolts should i use to attach my engine to the stand?

i'm also guessing that its best to attach the plate to the engine first, then hoist it up and slide the tube bit onto the stand if u know what i mean? lol

any help/tips would be great!

cheers

Deffo get the spider on the engine whilst it is on the ground and then just lift it up and slide it in. I use get box bolts if possible, and make sure there torqued up or they can bend as there are only four and no dowels like a bell housing.

Also, odds on you might have to remove the flywheel aswell in order to fit the spider

And I have an engine stand for sale too as it happens

I bought some long threaded 12mm (I think) rod and used nuts & washers at each end through where the bellhousing bolts to.
