To summerise, and in my opinion Celtic and the other team in glasgow (
) WOULD be fine and possibly pushing top six IF they were in premiership, as they would attract quality players who want to play against top clubs in a top league. I mean, would a player like Ronaldo fancy playing for Man U against Arsenal at the emirates, or playing for Celtic against Hearts at Tynecastle?? Mmmm. The fact that we have a revenue nearly as big as Spurs who have been getting massive amounts of BskyB money for 15 years says something.....

Yes but as an outsider who lived in the glasgow area and saw the celtic rangers violence and shit on many occasions, thats exactly how it looks. Sure the majority of the fans are probably ordinary people but the extremeity of the violence and "issues" surrounding celtic and rangers make millwall's latest escapades look friendly.............

you want to try a ajax feyenoord derby. makes celtic /rangers look like a church outing except without the kiddie fiddling . unless the boys club is attending.

Fuzzy - nice to see Glasgows not improved much in the last couple years then!!
The annual orange order marches still an excuse for a good fight?????
The marches ive seen in Belfast were less violent than the ones i witnessed in Glasgow
Choose the wrong day to go shopping down sauchiehall street and buchanon street

so my original statement stands then
fuck it, ban all football matchs having supporters - make it TV only, for 2 years then tell the clubs they have to sort the violence out or get shut down.
If rugby and cricket can manage to get rid of the violence than so can football. At the moment they just arent trying hard enough.

Ronaldo, Rooney, Torres, Gerrard, Lampard, Terry, Fabregas and those type of calibre players would never go to Celtic or Rangers. As I said in my post, they would get better players than Samuras and the like but not the top top players. They would not make top 5 and top 6/7/8 would be a battle, by no means easy or regular at all IMO and as a result they'd never be in the Champions League so would be pegged back further more from the top 4 or 5 just as Everton, Villa, Spurs etc are. At least now they have the chance to be in CL every year and that money.
It's not 'just' about the money as said with Spurs doing crap at times yet spending loads and Arsenal spending small but regularly being up there. I think some of you are basing calculations on Celtic being in the Premiership AND the CL every year which just like Leeds United, they won't be, if at all.
Question is how much more is Premiership TV cash + bigger sponsors it will attract worth that much more after you lose the CL cash and are stuck in the UEFA cup every year, that's assuming you make that every year as well?
