Hi Guys,

A friend has been sold what she was told was a Mondeo 'Edge'. She is now starting to think it is not a Mondeo Edge - is there an easy way to tell?

Ring any good Ford dealership, quote the chassis number and they will tell you exactly what spec the car is, any options etc etc

There is a list of the specification above, which should help. I think but I'm not sure if you put the Reg into the likes of 'We Buy Any Car' it will tell you the model.

I might be wrong here, but I thought the Edge was the base model - so if she's got anything else she's got a better deal!

What does it say on the V5?

 

As above, it's the base model. The Edge has black door handles and no chrome trim on the door top.

 

Is it Mk3 or Mk4 Mondeo? 'Edge' was available on both.

edge is the basic one but still got aircon,leccy windows and cruise control on the mk4.

 

I suppose it depends what you want to tell it.

If you are dumping it, it may be best to start with something like "It's not you, it's me.."

If it has won the lottery you better remember to be extra-nice and remind it how much you have helped in the past.

If its cat died, be gentle. "Your cat was in a tree, so we called the fire-brigade and..." (well, you know the rest!

 

Edge will have auto dip rear view mirror whilst base and lx models wont.Are a few other changes but doubt anyone would go to the trouble of changing that.

 

Edge isnt the base model at all.Its the 3rd up from base. Mondeo then mondeo lx then edge.

 

Not on the MK4, it's the entry model. For some reason I assumed the OP was refering to a nearly new one. Prob is a 3 tho'.
