hi, i need a sensor for my exhaust...

basically i just got a new front downpipe cat, for my 306, i was gonna use the old lambda, but can i frig get the old one out..

so just been looking for one the same part number as is in the old pipe..

do i need the exact same one, or do you just buy for a car model cos ive seen one listed for my car but the end 3 number are not the same...

the one in my old pipe is number
0258 003 668, but what ive seen listed i think for my car
0258 003 717

you can buy a universal 2/3 or 4 wire sensor mate, just match the wires up, there about £25, or buy one with the correct plug for a lot more.

 

Buy a spurious one with the connector.
Seen loads of false readings from bodged connections either soldered or bullet connectors.

personally, i would buy the one with the same part number, the reason being is also not just the wires have to match up but the voltage has to be the same.

because you have different last three numbers it might be down to voltage.

I have fit loads of intermotor universal lambdas using the supplied connectors with no issues at mot time, but thats only my experience

 

As long as it reads the usual 0.2 to 0.5v it will be fine. Ask your local supplier

 

I used to work in a main dealer garage and we used to use the universal on most cars.Just cut the old plug off your old sensor and solder the wires together.
