Leave it out. Put it on somewhere like www.pistonheads.com. Its free to advertise your car on there, and will cost just £7 for a better advert.

the thing about ebay is everyone on there wants a bargain so you will never get what you want, but if you put it on pistonheads, owners clubs etc probs get that lil bit more

I've sold a couple of cars on ebay, the last was a D plate series 1. It went for a grand more than the reserve as well. There are lots of messers, but it is a big audience for your car.

im a trader, sell loads of cars on ebay, straight and salvage, best way is to do it as a buy it now listing, have no trouble then and 9 times out of 10 the car will sell.

As long as you put a reserve on it then if it sells you can't be too unhappy.

I agree thoguh, there are a lot of messers on the bay. You could always put a buy it now on and try your luck!

AS above, put a reserve on,and be prepared to sometimes have to relist due to timewasters, set buyer requirements pretty high and you shouldnt have many problems.

I run a small business called Excel autos and buy and sell etc

we have sold a through ebay but we put a classified ad in with a make an offer below of about £200 less so for example if the car is up for sale at £2000 classified buy it now then the make an offer is £1800 or more accepted straight away

we havent had any problems and with the classified adverts its about £15 for a 28 days which is really good value for money!

I sold a car via eBay auction recently, you get car traders who sabotage your listings with dummy accounts, knowing that after you have been trying to sell a car for a few weeks you just want it gone and will accept a bad price.

I would never sell via auction again, only via buy-it-now or best-offer via the eBay classifieds route.

Dont bother with auctions for cars. Classified ad's is the way to go. £12.99 for 28 days and you can edit the advert when you like. Ive sold a few vehicles this way and could have sold them 10 times over. If you take it off as soon as it sells, you even get a pro rata refund.

Also, selling on ebay succesfully involves thought and skill. If the cars right, and the price is right, then the next things to look at are decent pictures, decent wording, and good keywords to get the hits.

ive sold dozens on there, but i don't use auctions. just classified ads. much less hassle, one off fee, job done. but i've also used pistonheads. free yes. so long as ya pick 3 mega photos so long as it stands out it will sell. assuming your gonna ad it at the right price of course.. i dont see the point in paying extra just for a few extra photo's. i put in the ad, call me an i'll email ya loads of photos

I had a nightmare selling an MOT fail Discovery, everyone two turned up wanted to drive it home despite me clearly listing all the reason that they couldn't.

Ended up with an Ebay bill for 160 quid which I had to fight may way out of paying.

I've bought my last two cars off there cheap as well, because of people being messed around. I just offered cash and no messing and went and did that. Shows how much people are messed about if they jump at the chance of dealing with a real person even if its less money.
