PassionFord Post Whore!!
My mates malard escos that was owned by Harvey then his friend in Ireland was a beast, never skipped a beat and in my opinion was perfect apart from the paddy coloured rocker cover that was on it
Gets my vote, and id have his engine fitted in my saph if i still owned it cos it was sell up or fancy engine but bought a house instead

I have no idea why you think I wouldnt Benni? An engines an engine as far as im concerned. As a mapper we essentially just give it the spark lead, fuel and boost pressures that are available for the hardware fitted and it makes whatever power it makes. If it makes bad power when the boost is set correctly, the AFR is perfect and the spark table is optimised then its a hardware fault, nothing to do with the mapper...
Edit - I've just worked out you probably don't map them from new.
Benni.

Realibility is the sign of a good engine, doesnt matter what an engine makes on a dyno on any given day and how strong the power looks if it dont last its nothing more than an old yb on botox!
Im still amazed Andy g's engine handled 2 seasons of hardcore racing day in day out!
That to me highlights Harvey and the SCS crew are the best in the business.

If i was Harvey id not react to internet warrior provocation and i dont mean from the original thread poster although he should have spoken to you direct.......
IMO Harvey doesn't need to justify himself on a public forum, his work speaks for itself and reputation and any problems with his work/business should be addressed in person not on here where people will wooden spoon it up for kicks
Rise above it Harvey.........

a proper engine is one that takes abuse after abuse on track not one that does half its life being driven to the shops or to cruises by the mrs...both mentioned tuners know thier stuff and both would of defaintly had problems in the past because after al it is a cosworth engine were talking about..to say whos the best is stupid they are both good and thats been proven..if i didnt build my own and was to use one of these tuners id probably go with harvey as his engines are highly proven on track etc...thats my choice cheers danny

I love Harvey to death, never passes ya by & my old 425hp lump did 35k HARD abusive miles, driven EVERYday & never once missed a beat !! Was the absolute t*ts of an engine !!
I was put in contact wit him through Mikey Rainbird & never regreted, it had an AB chip to begin wit & actually went so much better when I changed the chip for one done by Harvey himself !! car was an absolute missle !!
I would of gone back to Harvey all day long for an engine build in my new Cossie but the engine I got now came up at the right time & right money, along wit bein built by Mark.
This engine is the bo**ks too !! Especially now runnin autronic's thanks to Dean, Chip, Rod & Mark. I jus keep smilin everytime I open her up & it never stops makin me smile !! Jus got stoopid amounts of power & sooooo much torque !! Never driven a cossie which is as nice to drive as this, always doubted peeps sayin switch management, makes a huge difference, untill I actually did it !!
Since this lump gone in & Dean bein a close mate, I've spent lots of time wit Mark & the MAD crew & dont, for a single second regret buyin this engine !!
Both peeps are top blokes, know their stuff, both proven & both at the top of their game !!

all i can say we have brought about ten scs engines to Ireland between three of us and introduced lots more.thats the best advertising you can get.happy customers
never told anyone this but my first scs engine wouldnt fire after i fitted it back home in Cork.car was floodin badly and was really worried.called Harvey straight away and couldnt solve it over the phone ,so what did he do.got on a fcukin plane and came to Ireland to fix it.......how much better service can you get.
my fault to,had the iscv mixed with an injector plug...muppet.
have been great friends with the whole scs family since.
they have looked after us big time and they know what i mean.
have a 385 in the saff at the mo and its a good road engine, matchin torque with low lag

biggest powerd yb or biggest yb that will last atleast a season?
i know for a fact we could of pushed over 900bhp out my engine on the dyno but why push for pub bragging figures, i would like to think my 800 engine will last as long as the 680 and its still going strong
the answer to your question i think would have to be mad!

As said already, I'd definately rate SCS engines for reliability and longevity as proven by Andrew and Charlie!! Don't see many other 'tuners' engines out there in race cars being ragged to death every other weekend then brought to track days for us to enjoy watching being thrashed!!!!

Is this totally reliable 680 engine not the one that expired in a cloud of smoke at Brunters im confused by the statement that it proved to be long term reliable .
Mine had its first failure on its 18th Topspeed run, when running over 900bhp .

In the video posted the other day your car (Rod) hits 185 mph and the chap driving is only giving it some for 20 seconds, mega impressive, but lets say it takes 40 seconds for your average top speed run maybe less, perhaps you can tell us. That means your engine failed after 720 seconds of abuse ? Thats 12 laps of a 2 minute track. Hardly a great statment to use when trying to slag off someone else's engine.

LOL you really dont have a clue, it was not an engine failure, or even better worded, it wasnt a engine failure due to an engine/mapping component, OK ?
who gives a shit about top speed anyway ? theres only mad doing the whole top speed run thing really isnt there, ill put alot of money on it someone could reasonably easily go out and beat all them records, could you go and do a 9.5 second quater mile ?
