Nurburgring Trip.... with friends new GT-R
back last night from a great weekend away with friends at the Ring.
Temps were soaring over 30C all weekend. Some accidents per usual and the track shut due to bikes, but overall less accidents this trip than previous trips.
Approx 15 of us went over together.
My mate Steve took his recently aquired GT-R. In may he took his M3 with me and this time the GT-R really was the boss... Knocks spots off the M3.
At Folky, see how the Nissan Dwarfs the 3 series in size...
On the train at Folkstone

My car was going well for several laps, then for the rest went into ''reduced power'' mode on the uphill sections annoyingly... 25K on the re-map and over 130 full bore standing starts and 2 track days and 2 previous ring trips no issue, but this third one in the major heat took its toll.
The GT-R just took all the abuse that was thrown at it. It gripped like nothing else ive been in, the amount of speed it can carry through the corners is immense, the braking is stupendous, carrying so much speed into the bends, and the brakes didnt even brake into a sweat knocking off the speed so quickly.
enough talking, here is some pics..
At calais, this guy had the right idea, R1 in the back of a land rover.
Myself giving it beans.
My mate Tim's db9
Now the beast, Steve's GT-R.
best lap for me in the GT-R was when a N24 Vantage race car, run at the ring (295 euros a LAP) COULD not pass us untill 3 corners from the end. Epic lap and we had a chat with the ex F3 racer afterwards!!
All good fun and cant wait for the next trip.

Hi Lee, he was 8-10 car lenghts behind, otherwise we would have let him through sooner.. He gained on the last section quite a lot, almost lost it then we let him past.

I think you missed the joke, I tried to make it even more obvious with my edit but you obviously didnt see that before you hit reply.
You said that someone couldnt be more wrong than that you were on your period, so I was trying to be more wrong

Ok.. i'm going to step over the topic detour
i fuckin love this pic... i don't know why, i just do..
I'm not a fan of the GT-R, not even slightly, it's bloody ugly and well, it's got soo many gadgets and gizmo's it'd be better suited in an amusement arcade.

The N24 has lapped the ring in 7.45 so I very much doubt Carl and his buddies were holding it at bay given the person driving it is likely to have a few laps under theri belt and can probably lap the ring with their eyes shut.
The driver was probably having more fun with his passenger saying....Lets play with this GTR and see if the guy crashes it which judging from Carls post they almost did.

Not at all. From what I've seen on here you seem a fairly laid back person, just came across as snappy. Just thought it was a bit of a pointless post
