Default RS2000 MK6 Problem

Earlier tonight woudlnt start,then wnet out and it started after a lot of turning over,and when trying to turn it over and start it made a funny high pitched noise,when started ran fine lights not dim,idled properly turned it off now nothing like battery flat,but put battery on charge and it says its charged?

Any ideas anyone

starter moter may have stuck on when started and burned it self out, try bump starting it, if it starts its the starter, if not its one thing out the way

Will try bump starting it thats my first thought or the alternator

alternator wont stop it starting if the batterys ok (it only charges the battery)

Yep your right soz very pissed off so brain not thinking right tonight thanks for your help,so that noise was probaly the starter motor sticking as you said

Bloody RS2000,s eat their starter motors lol

Well pmed someone breaking one and see if he got an alternator aswell just so I have one spare of those

Local freindly garage will do it for me,I am too short tempered to do that fit things

Get something with a long handle and hit the starter motor, makes it work.

does it make a ticking sound when trying to tun over. you could try rocking the car in 1st gear if it's still engaged.

Sounds like starter motor for deffo

belt it with your trolly jack handle and get someone to turn the ignition over at same time

Cahrged the battery and it started first time ran it for five mins,now the battery completely dead so looks like a duff battery or an alternator problem.

Weird started first turn of the key,shut it off then nothing bloody thing

I would check the battery voltage when the engine is running to see if the alternator is working.

Any idea what the voltage should be,the battery not go flat just not enough to restart the car,as charges up pretty quickly
