Default whys my boost tailing off? what does every1 elses boost peak and hold at?

ive just fitted a new genuine -34 actuator to my car and its peaking at 1.5bar but then drops down to 1.1bar quite quickly.

what could be causing it?
theres no leaks, i had 2 but found them and fixed them.

what else could cause it?

its a T34.63 on a cossie.

Most cars drop off mate, they will peak at one figure and hold another which is usually lower than it peaks.

Mine peaks 1.9 bar and holds 1.5 bar, so its nothing unusual.

Maybe that is the way it is setup. Ours is setup to: Peak 28psi hold 25-26 top end and 22psi for the limiter

Greens T34 .63

What injectors are you running and what chip

Have you set up the ports on the amal valve ? One of them adjusts the spike and held boost I think

The port to the actuator is STD
I had to remove the restrictor in the port to atmosphere to get that boost.
What one controls the held pressure?

Also I made the actuator length about 6mm short of the wasregate

Fit a decent boost controller and you can have rock solid boost levels all the time, no spikes, and no drop offs ( assuming no mechanical limitations )

Was jus gonna say that !!

Stu, link the pipe from the compressor housing straight to the actuator & see what boost you get, should peak & hold roughly same pressure.

It's prob the jets in ya Amal valve, got a 1/8th drill bit ?

I'll find that pressure reg for ya in mornin & give Wayne a call, oh & you gotta be out tomorrow night, we got some races on, usual place

Jb, I txt Wayne yesterday I don't need the reg any more m8, I fitted a new pump and it's fine now.
But I do need a 4x4 knock sensor?

I want a boost controller, it's just the usual, more bloody money.

What time tonight m8, will try to come down.

-31, but it did it before aswell, and struggled to get enough boost out of it.
thats y i changed to the -34.
its not caused by the 34, was just surprised it drops so much.

the maps between the -31 and -34 are potentially different, and the required amal jets will also potentially be different.

you shouldnt just sling a -34 on and hope for the best, as an absulute minimum it will need a fuelling and det check

regardless of what everyone elses peaks and holds at, yours should only run what your software is spec`d to run,

what injector size does it run?
