Agreed, very strong pistons, and with a minimal thermal expansion, fucking awesome bits of kit IMHO

What I was trying to say last night is I'd be happy running an Impreza engine at around 400bhp, which is all I'm looking for just now. Obviously I've learned from this thread that a Cossie lump could give me that power safely too. With regards to the rods, you're no doubt right as you probably know more about these engines than me. I had been on the vodka last night though and you know how it is!!

Std rods is just rpm that kills them power wise we had an escort in dk that had 754bhp last year with std rods and cranck.
Std pistons 500bhp i think have seen some with cracks down the side.
