I was speaking from personal experience, think I must have been very lucky though. I even volunteered & turned up to view video evidence at Police HQ to see if I recognised the drivers head from behind, but it turned out that it could have been any one of many mates who could have come to the house and picked up the keys & borrowed my car.

I have heard of other people who 'aren't sure who was driving' getting the points because they're the registered keeper though.
