Default Shotblasting at home

I've got a fairly good compressor (50 litre tank, 3hp twin cylinder pump and lots of pressure - 12 bar I think).

In Halfords they have a little shotblasting gun and wonder if it is any good for cleaning calipers etc?

Would I need anything else? Sand obviously, but what about a blast cabinet, or would I get away with using a cardboard/wooden box?

Alu oxide for other metals

Sand for glass

Just bought a shotblast cabinet with everything you need to get you going, including 20kg of glass bead, and 20kg of alu oxide £150 made by clarke, came from machine mart
