Why worry about other peoples costs, if you want the best then it will cost loads to buy the skills required to obtain it, much the same as everything else in life. If you are having fun with your £100 engine just enjoy it.
Some of us are interested in setting records & pushing boundaries & im afraid it dont come cheap but surely its of no interest or indeed business of anyone else, just enjoy your car & spend what you can afford.
Cheers Rod

I think also you are paying for the knowledge behind the engine as well and in some cases that aint cheap, as Rod says breaking records aint peanuts

Technically speaking, mine was £26.67 per hp as it was mapped running a restrictor, but in reality is capable who much more.

Can't remember the exact figure TBH, well the engine was free as it came with the car
But when i needed to get it rebuilt i think it cost me about 2k all in, that was me taking out the engine and refitting it again, had the block done by an engine builder, and the head done my a mate off here for cheap, then i delivered it to the builder who quickly checked the head and bolted it back onto the block. Job jobbed.
