I quite miss my old hilux, so been thinking about getting another one, but Ive got a Lexus V8 engine going spare at the moment, and was thinking of maybe putting it into a hilux so its actually quick this time round as my old one was good fun but bloody slow.
Engine is 255bhp standard, but you can easily see 350-400 from them, Hilux would probably come in at about 1500kg, so a little heavier than an escos but not a lot.
Ive genuinely got NO idea what it would actually drive like though, my old one (would probably get similar age again I as prefer the look of the earlier ones) was on proper antique suspension, leafs front and rear etc, and was on big off road tyres and jacked up, was thinking this time though to lower it and run it on low profile road tyres if Im going to make a quick one.
Anyone ever driven anything like that though, as obviously I dont want to bother doing it if the damn thing just keeps falling over whenever I boot it round a bend

If your going to lower it etc why not start with a 4x2 hilux, They are aready low to the ground arent they and would look quite good.like some of the small american pick ups etc etc, Thats if your not bothered about it being 4x4
