Default FAO: Fish people... best way to transport a goldfish 300 miles?

Our beloved 6 year old fairground goldfish needs moving down to Cornwall. Any ideas of the best way in a car for 300 odd miles over 4 hours.

1st thought was half empty the tank, but he's too big for it anyway (getting him a new bigger one if he survives the journey). But any sloshing about might stress him out too much?

Or maybe a large clear plastic bag similar to what he came in from the fair?

give him a tomtom or a waterproof AtoZ and send him on hes way via the toilet and meet him when he gets there, fish version of racing pigeon

or go to the pet store, get a large plastic bag which they will have and some oxygen tablets and transport him, make sure there is a tank waiting for him AND try to have some of hes old water in the new tank and obv the transporter bag

Good point about keeping some of the old water. Didn't know about oxygen tabs.

Stick him in the header tank on your car

Seriously though, you can get transport boxes for fish, i believe they are made of poly with that other packing stuff in it ( you know them swirly things that you use to make napalm? ) then the fish ( in a double bag ) goes inside that.

Boot it over the fence and buy another one in cornwall

But as I would do, they fly fish in from abroad without any problems, see if your local aquatics store has any of the proper containers.
