i didn't enter this time as i didn't have anything that i considered particularly relevant to the topic. i see that didn't stop everyone though (i really don't get the speaker one?)

Apparently 'sound' is a good source of learning!

 

It was a very difficult subject to think of a picture for, i suspect thats the main reason for lack of entries

No i just think people cant be arsed. cos even when its a relatively easy subject we get bugger all entries now!

The subject itself isn't too bad, however finding something you feel represents it and getting a decent quality picture of it can be a total nightmare

Well TBH I Forgot all about the Comp. If I hadnt sent a pic in straight away I might not av remembered in time. (Late entry as usual for me)

those who do not understand the speaker one, have never done any teacher training!

one of the first things you learn is that different people learn in different ways, some by sound, some by sight, some by physical practice, its all part of learning style

no you are right i have never done any teacher training. and i wouldnt want to.

 

i dont blame you, most people dont want to learn anything

 

I blame the subjects for lack of entries as ive said before some of them you cant think of anything that is suitable to put into a picture. Its all well coming up with a word, trying to find something to photograph is another story lol.

 

But there is no point in running a competition if there is just an open subject every week?

 

use your imagination people.......

I disagree, it took me ages to even think of an idea to put a photo together to enter, if many of us are relatively new to the world of photography, finding a photo thats relevant and worthwhile isnt an easy task.

I agree there, I had to submit a picture I took earlier in the year due to the fact that I had no idea what else I could do. Im just really getting into photography and to be able to come up with something that explains Learning without propper thought can be hard. But then its also good as it puts you to the test in trying to find the right thing.

Sorry i didnt enter this one i've been away with the missus on a 2 week diving holiday in Egypt!

Some canny entries, it was definitely a tough subject to grab a picture for imo.

 

Why is the speaker damaged (the 2 holes punched into the cone) ?

 

its not holes, its the tails of the voice coil i think

 

oooooh nice, did you have a good time? Not spoke to you for ages, you taken any decent pics?

 

Yeah had a lovely time, took the D90 over there but didnt even get it out of the bag took a good few underwater photos with the Panasonic Lumix TZ5 think i'll start a thread later showing them.

We done 14 dives in total, mainly reef dives but 2 of them were to the shipwreck of SS Thistlegorm which was fantastic, swimming through the cargo holds seeing old motorbikes, locomotives, guns, artillery etc

 

Youll have to get on msn and tell me about it, sounds good, i couldnt go underwater let alone dive

Underwater over there in the Red Sea is so much easier than it is back home in the North Sea, amazing visibility 30-50m compared to 0-10m, the warmest i've experienced the North Sea is 11 deg C, but the Red sea was at the lowest 26 deg C at a depth of 35.3m

 

sounds fantastic, i cant imagine the north sea being anything remotely nice actually
