Default dilemma !!!!!!!!!!

i basiclly have a series 1 that needs quite abit of welding/spraying doing on it but havn't got the time to play with it and strip it down so i've kinda lost interest.

its heavly modifed and i loved it before it failed its MOT

its now been standing in the garage for almost 2 years and i've started to strip the front-end off , just havn't had the time with moving house and having a ankle grabber!!

it looks alot like this one but without the cage(hope the owner dosn't mind using this photo)

I've recently come into some money and i would love to get a 3door cossie but havn't quite got enough so heres the dilemma :

do i repair the series 1 then flog it ?

or sell it as it is and save on the cost of repairing it.how much would i get for it??

I've got a budget of 8grand for the cossie but at he mo have only got 6grand so do i repair the series1 (£2000max!) and then hope i get around 4 grand for it or do i hope i get 2grand for it as it is!!

i really would like the cossie asap but i'm soooooooooooo unsure what to do

need some help guys - inspire me

thanks for your help

Justin

Don't think you'll get two grand for it with no MOT it it needs bodywork TBH.

Why don't you work out how much it will be worth if you did all the work, then work out how much the work will cost and see if it'll be worth doing or if it is better/easier to sell as it is.

Or save that bit longer and have both cars!

Well you could break it but then it may take a while to get your cash back and be stuck with loads of bits and dealing with loads of calls and postage and packaging of bits.

£4K it will need to be heavy spec'd and good solid condition to shift with good history.

As it is, if the main shell isn't to bad and it runs well enough then your looking around £1500 for it with no ticket, but then it comes down to the spec and history on it and the alloys, tyres, suspension interior condition etc, if nothing is really clean on minty then may be closer to £1,000.

Best bet is get the welding done and get it passed an MOT,give it a proper clean over and run out then knock it out fot the 2k mark, poss a bit more if it comes up looking nice.

Now would be a good time to sell it as a project and cut your losses and save your time,

I may well be looking for my next one so get some pics up or email me some on jade2@gsg.eu.com. my mate broke a car and once he sold the main bits he was left with loads of bits all over the place and the shell and it took for ever to get his cash back

Just a note, buy Performance Ford and Fast Ford mags, this months classifieds have a white and a black 3 door in, both look really spanking and close to your budget!!

Good luck eitherway mate

if its modifed like you say then surely you would get 4grand for it! especiaaly if it looks like that in the photo above. I would say get it fixed then clean it up as best you can then flog it on here . Theres allways plenty of people on here that love those cars
