i dont think it is real.. the rear quarters on this one are different than standard escos quarters, they aren't lifted to blend in with the rear whale tale. they should be

well in my opinion it could be a standard shell that has had fibre 1/4's put on, i cant see as the rally team would pay for a escos shell then ruin it by cutting the 1/4's off. however if you remember a week ago that lad on ebay trying to sell his astra gls as a gsi cus the logbook said so, its easy to change the model variant by sending ya logbook off with a change of detail on it. so if ya thinkin of buying it as genuine then i wouldn't bother. depends what ya want it for.

Looks like a Mk5 shell with some Sierra bits underneath.

mk5 shell

escorts have vents on both inner wings at bulkhead, and a crossmember that looks like a sierra almost, that has a normal mk5 crossmember

the only way you will know is to check the chasis number.
if it has a Escos chasis number its a ringer-
if it has a mk5 escort one its now.

That is 110% not a mk5/5a/6 FWD escort shell, the FWD inner wing are completly different than that. It looks to have sierra inner wings? But as Kevin says, its cheap and its acompetion car, so who cares?

inner wings are not mk.5 escort and the transmission tunnel sort of gives the game away too.

Dome used to sell converted standard escort shells to accept rwd running gear, they also came with their own version of the wrc back end and if I remember correctly used a grp kit

Could well be one of those, and if registered as new you could call them whatever you like back then in the 90s, that changed when Ford and the DVLA cracked down due to a ringing racket going on that was unearthed

Muddysport the seller is also the breaker based in the West Country so will know his stuff, and I would say has priced it accordingly - they want 28k for an engine less wrc so doubt they would be selling this cheap for no reason

If it is one of the Dome converted cars then yes, as its just the same as people do to the focus these days so that a YB will fit
