Default heat proof materials?

i have just made up a water pipe for the 3dr, but it passes directly over the downpipe where it joins the exhaust housing on the turbo.

so im guessing that that area is going to get pretty fooking hot....

idea 1 was to wrap to the samco etc in exhaust wrap

idea 2 is to wrap the downpipe in exhaust wrap and get a turbo beanie, but im looking at about £200 for that lol

is there any DECENT stuff around that i wrap the samco in that will withstand about 800+ degrees constantly?

any ideas peeps

i think if you wrap the samco in exhaust wrap it will keep the heat f that in, what you need to do is reflect it away or heat wrap the bit of downpipe imo

How about getting the pipe made up in stainless the just having to small hose at either end?

merlin motorsport will make the hose out of alloy tubing, but its going to cost a fortune.

part of it will be alloy tube, just not the bit that passes over the downpipe
