Right.. according to my slam panel, my car ( the orion ) is painted in 'jad gruen' which i presume is Jade green ? now i've been to fords and got their version of it from '85 and it's completely the wrong colour - like, too blue.

i wrote down everything that was on the slam plate and took it to chav central ( halfords ) and the dude mixed me up a tin of paint.. also too blue, took the same info to a local paint company and they said that the paint colour doesn't exist..

i was planning on taking it to a body shop to get the paintwork done, but with things the way they are, i can't afford it, so i was planning on getting a few rattle can's and doing the bumpers myself ( got xr bumpers on it ) so does anyone know what the proper code for it is ?

i've seen fiesta's, granada's and another orion the same colour as it..

i've been waiting 10 days for the bodyshop to paint some bumpers and wings for me

they sprayed some other bits the other week but now my paint code doesn't exist

 

How the f**k does that work ? The only conclusion i can come up with on it for the Orion - aka snotpot, is this water based paint thing - maybe they can't get the same colour matches or something ?

 

i got some bits sprayed the week before central day and they got the code straight away

but now it's been 2 weeks and the bits are sitting there because "your paint code doesn't exist"

 

i would not paint my push bike with the crap they sell at halford's..................ford's colour code's can be a nightmare to track down........i can have a look at work and see how many shades there are i would guess it would be one of the light shades.......halfords have one shade i may have anything from 1-20.......there are bodyshop supply people that can put any paint in a can........not crap!
do you have the colour code on the silver plate?

right ici list 3 shades,no1,dark 1,dark 2 there the only ones.
the trouble with them being to blue is because it is cheap paint and they use cheap tinters and this is a common problem.
you should be able to get ici put in a aerosol.
id say try no1 would be close enough and would be miles better match than any cheap crap. 8 is the colour code mate it is the first letter or number on the silver plate.
if they still cant find it the ici referance is-0771b it is avalable in 2k,water base and cellose.
