its got new everything in there and it would appear its not getting enough fuel to start it up, yet theres half a tank of juice, new fuel pump, new filter, new metering unit , new everything
aahhh its winding me up

Don't sell it mate , you will regret it
I think most of us have been in the position where we have had a problem and it has really annoyed us. Persevere and see it thru if you have virtually new everything.
It may turn out to be something small and stupid.
There's loads of good tuners and garages on here of which I have no doubt they will sort the problem for you..
Stick with it as there's not many Series ones left and it's nice to own one of the few left

its had a bottom end build not to long ago oversize pistons standard head for now, new starter motor, new belt, new alternator belt, new tensioners, new crank pulley, newish fuel pump, new fuel filter, new throttle position sensor, new 5th injector new, distributer new rotoary arm new metering unit new exhaust, new thermostat new head bolts etc new gaskets everywhere all new jubilee clips everywhere and theres prob more ive forgot
i havent replaced the gearbox or clutch or alternator and ive checked the earths several times and looks ok, ive jumped it no luck, tow'd it no luck , set the rotary arm to 12 degrees, and had the timing checked several times
i dont think its fueling right somehow, ive moved the alan key bit on the metering unit and ive taken the sparks out and there sparking, ive put a big spanner on the cam pulley bit but it does seem a bit stiff to move it round, but i believe its a fueling issue
ive had it running and done 3 miles it in since the rebuild and i drove it home doing the 3 miles and then next morning nothing
thats my current status if it helps ?

Ok m8 sound like a supid answer but this is whot happened to mine it would'nt start after it had be running fine ect it started when i towed it the it would'nt do a think it had to much fuel going to 2 cyls so i canged the metering unit and it fired then cut out and would'nt start
so i removed the boost hose going to the turbo and it was full of fuel so emped it then put it back together and it fired up fine but then did the same thing so im now on my 3rd metering unit and so far its ok apart from snapping a injector hose
So just pull the boost hose off going to the turbo just in case its droping the fuel into the hose it only did in under pressure on mine
Good luck m8
