i am runing a group a coil and decent plug, with all new cap, rotor arm and sensors ETC, the only time i ave had a missfire was at full boost in torrential rain.
I do know that a wasted spark is loads better though, and i want one!
Suprised no one has said closed loop yet?

i told you !!!!!........ listen to an old dog.lol...

been using these for over 10yrs now ...... i told richy about them

i gave him a set to copy

my 3dr has no rubbers on any of the chassis except the diff mount/gearbox mount /engine mount all the rest like rose jointed tca's /rear arms /arb ect are all metal to metal either rose jointed or alloy bushes or nylon

I let richy drive my motor he couldn't belive how good it was for a car that has no rubbers on it i also have rose jointed suspension on the rear

it's hard to explain but people think when you have all metal to metal that it will be noisey and virbrate like fook........... but it doesn't

it does if you have solid beam mounts with solid diff mount and also solid gearbox mount the car will be hurendose

my car is on the limits chassis wise but very happy with it

but one of the best converstions has to be hydraulic clutch that martin does that is the best single mod you can have

The best mod, I ve ever made on mine, was cutting the ends off the little platic caps on the grey injectors. Completely transformed the car. It corrected the spray pattern of the injector. The greys on mine had a 45 degree angle, but the cap was 15. So after the main squirt, there was a dribble from the fuel that didint pass the end of the cap at first.

Can you explain this a little bit more please baz?
How did you know how the injectors were spraying?
And what did you do to the cap?
Can you put up some pics.
Cheers aaron

Hi AAron, sorry I dont have pics. I was having trouble with the idle and starting (grpA rally car, so never going to be perfect) it was during a conversation with Stu at MSD that he mentioned that the caps on the end of early greys are not correct for the spray pattern of the injector itself. I had a spare set of caps so I cut across the bottom (the end pointing into the head ) so the cap became a sleave, like cutting the top of a top hat. Ran perfectly afterwards.

my best mod was to convert my escos to rwd its brilliant! its got unbelievable grip and it put the power down!! not arse happy atall really safe, but in the wet it skids well!!

as for wasted spark, the only advantage ive found is these less mecanical parts to fail, if you think you can notice the difference then your imagining it. if fact it will be slower to start up. and you still have to close plug gaps for big boost.

but worth having as the dizzys crack often.

I noticed better running when cold, by putting a ACCEL coilpack in place of the ford one, and using Iridium plugs IK27's.
Best chassis mod was poly diff hanger, then adjustable 22mm rear arb.

How do you work that out? Wasted spark can charge the coil for longer meaning you can run a bigger gap

well the instuctions with the kit say they need to be gapped to 0.65mm and mine still misfired untill i closed the gaps up to 0.65mm.

not at all mate, your actually getting more sparks per revolution than with a dizzy even on basic wasted spark, wether they are all useful sparks is another matter, but willnever be slower to start then with an old style dizzy

and try getting launch control to work well without a coil pack!

your very limited to the amount of retard you can give the std dizzy system, but coilpack is unlimited!
