what a road trip from hell

i was meant to get my second group a pump done before i went but ran out of time,so i planned to fit when there

but by time we got there and weather etc decided against it and dropped the boost

anyway left my house at 3.15am,loaded car on trailer and fueled up,on road for 4.45am

old x-reg transit,shitey old trailer and my car on the back,3 of us in the front,stopped once for food at abington

we got pulled by the traffic cops just before birmingham for being in the 3rd lane with a trailer

3 points and £60 fine,they were checking out the car for mot,tax etc when its on a fukn trailer

then the transit doesnt start i had to unbolt the battery out the cossie and jump start it on the hard shoulder,while the police just fucked off

got going,sat nav got us lost,never reached the proving ground until near 1pm

had our time there

back on trailer,my daft mate drove the wrong way round out and put us on the strip in the transit with andrew gallacher coming towards us at treble fig`s

got grief off the staff understandably

on the road more diesel,stopped for food at services and a lorry driver informs us the m6 is shut between 16 and 18,see charlie shaw and andrew g flying past,phoned them and told them so we took this other road to head over to m1 onto a1

all shattered had a half hour sleep,i jumped in the cossie,bunch of wee laddies seen me sleeping started jumping on the trailer

on the road again,got flashed by a speed camera another 3 points

eventually got back to mine at 2am,got my mates wr1 out my garage,woke the neighbours and put mine back in

bed

slept in for work,so took day off

im having a couple of cand now forgive me lol

I moved my parents up to near Stirling on saturday. Had to drive the truck on the limiter @ 56 mph all the way back to Birmingham

That top bit of M6 and the M74 is just sooo boring

 

What a nightmare! Least you can have a couple of cans and laugh about it. I'd be pissed about the 6 points.

 

Col fuck that mate we stopped at a services before the traffic jam had a burger and chips then the traffic jam cleared got it lit all the way home 5,5 hours we got home in i was home & yous were at newcastle

 

your vans are as fast as half the cars on here carlo lol

 

well when a thought av had a bad week so far just shows mine is,nt so bad after all

aw well it was a day out . thats one way of looking at it

 

we had a drag race in the vans with the trailors when we left charlie got a head start
then wouldnt let us past the ambulance guys must have been pissin themselfs laughing

 

the pair of them are nuts

Have done it all before a few times to Brunters, left at 1am from Glasgow to be at Brunters for 8ish, spent whole day playing and then run back up road get home about midnight.

I was in a Saab 9-5 Estate to be fair so a bit comfier haha.

It knocks the shit out of you though.

first time i did brunters left at 1am arrived around 9.30, left brunters at 5pm arrived back hom 1am, what a fookin mission....and you lot wonder why i cant be bothered making the trip anymore

when you doing it again since you had so much fun?

 

Typical Jocks, normal people would just get a £40 travel inn room, you lot are just too tight!! Fair play though, that is a fucking mission of a drive/day!

 

We stayed in the premier in so was a good trip for us

 

LOL i didnt fancy leaving my 3door outside a travel lodge on a trailer with only bare 3rd party insurance

 

same kev i wouldnt want to leave it either

i bet it take 30 secs to hot wire the old transit

Sounds like a crazy day, glad Brunters is only 35mins from me as don't think i'd like a mission like that, lol

 

Why didnt you phone brunters up before hand and leave your car there the day before the shoot theres on site security there 24-7 and once the gates get closed at 8.00pm they dont open again till 7 in the morning so nothing goes in and out you wont find a safer place to leave your car.

na steve it pissed all day,i was on 215s and took slicks looking for good weather

was gutted,it was spinning in 4th

i think my 0-60 would of been 45min

so i just had a carry on going round the bends and killing the back tyres

the 4x4 guys were awsome though
